UX Case Study Havenly Mobile App
Challenge: Create a mobile App that will help people to easily find Hotel, Residence or any other place for any occasion.
Deliverables: Strategy, User Research, Persona, Task Flow, Wireframe, Low-Fidelity, Mockups, High-Fidelity Prototype.
Role: Product Designer

Havenly is an online platform where you can book deverses type of place as Hotel Room, Appartement, villa, Coworking Place and more.
Challenge:
The challenge is to create a mobile App that will help user to find easily an ideal place according to their needs.
PROCESS:
Empathize: Our process begins with the empathize phase, where we conduct user research to understand the users, their problems, needs, and the context in which they will interact with our design.
Define: In the define phase, we utilize an affinity map to analyze user pain points and set priorities.
Ideate: Next, we enter the ideate phase, generating a wide range of design solutions. We then select the best ideas and create a user flow to visualize how users will interact with the product.
Prototype and Test: Finally, we move into the prototype and testing phase. We start with wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes to test our initial concepts and gather user feedback. Based on these insights, we refine our designs into high-fidelity mockups, ensuring they are accessible. We conclude by testing the high-fidelity prototype and making final adjustments before launching the product.
USER RESEARCH:
In our user research for Havently, we employed a variety of methods to gain insights into users' booking experiences, including in-depth interviews, customer review analysis, surveys, and a competitive audit. We initially assumed that the complexity of the booking interface was the main issue. However, our findings revealed several key problems: the search process lacks effective filtering tools; inaccurate details and misleading descriptions lead to frustration; unexpected costs appear only at checkout; unreliable visuals and misleading reviews cause unpleasant surprises; inconsistent information makes comparison difficult; the booking process feels like a gamble; real-time communication with property owners is limited; assessing the true value of accommodations is challenging; personalized recommendations are lacking; and integration of user reviews and ratings is poor. These insights have guided us to enhance filtering capabilities, improve information accuracy, and incorporate social connectivity features to create a more reliable and user-centric booking experience on Havently.
Affinity Map

Based on study here are 5 problems I decide to focus on
The search process lacks effective filtering tools.
Unexpected costs appear only at checkout.
Limited or no real-time communication with property owners.
Unreliable visuals and misleading reviews cause unpleasant surprises.
The booking process feels like a gamble with uncertain outcomes.
Persona
To share what I learned about users, I created three different personas to represent the variety of users I discovered in my research.
Persona: Sarah
Problem Statement: Sarah needs to quickly find comfortable and well-located accommodations for her business trips, but she often struggles with inadequate search filters, misleading descriptions, and unexpected costs, leading to frustration and wasted time.

Persona: John
Problem Statement: John wants to book family-friendly vacation rentals with good value for money, but he finds it challenging to compare options due to inconsistent information and unreliable reviews, and he struggles with limited ways to connect with other customers for more insights.

Persona: Emily
Problem Statement: Emily needs to find flexible, well-reviewed co-working spaces and short-term rentals while traveling, but she faces issues with poor integration of user reviews, lack of personalized recommendations, and limited social features, making it hard to assess accommodation value and connect with other travelers.

IDEATE
Task Flows:
I created task flows for steps a user typically goes through in order to complete two common tasks in Havenly App:
User want to book a place for any occasion
User want to connect with others in the App

LOW-FI and SKETCHES
To visualize and validate our task flows, we developed wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes. These initial designs focus on the essential functionalities identified in the user journeys, enabling us to test and refine our concepts with users early in the design process. Below, we showcase the wireframes and prototypes for the primary tasks of booking a place and connecting with others in the app.

PROTOTYPE
After developing the wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes, we moved on to the prototype phase, which involves creating mockups and high-fidelity prototypes. This phase is crucial for refining the visual design and interactive elements of our product Havenly App. By transitioning from low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototypes, we aimed to ensure that our designs are not only functional but also visually appealing and user-friendly. Below, we present the mockups and high-fidelity prototypes that bring our vision for Havenly to life, incorporating user feedback to enhance the overall user experience.

CONCLUSION
In this case study, we designed Havenly, an online platform for booking various accommodations. We started with user research to find key pain points and needs, then created three personas to guide our design.
We developed task flows for booking a place and connecting with others, and made wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes to visualize our ideas. After refining these, we created mockups and high-fidelity prototypes to improve the visual and interactive elements. Finally, we presented an animated prototype to show the user experience.
Throughout this process, our focus was on making Havently user-friendly and ensuring it provides a seamless booking experience.
After Thoughts
This UX Case Study has been a challenging and rewarding experience for me.I learned just how crucial user research is in uncovering real pain points and needs, which really helped shape my design decisions. Creating personas allowed me to see things from users' perspectives and make sure I was meeting their diverse needs.
I really enjoyed the process of developing wireframes and prototypes. It was great to see my ideas evolve and improve with each round of feedback. Moving from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity prototypes was especially exciting—it felt like watching my vision come to life with all the details and interactions.
Overall, I feel really proud of what I accomplished with Havently. This project reinforced how important it is to design with empathy and focus on the user. I'm excited to work on another similar project.
