USER RESEARCH
In our user research for Loyd Barber, we employed various methods such as in-depth interviews, customer review analysis, surveys, and a competitive audit to understand users' experiences. Initially, we assumed the lack of modern styling options was the main issue, but our findings revealed several key problems: users struggled with booking appointments due to a cumbersome system, there was a significant lack of clear information about the range of services offered, users were unsure about the optimal times to visit the barber shop, and potential students had limited awareness and accessibility to the registration system for professional barber courses.
These insights have guided us to develop a user-friendly online booking system, provide comprehensive service information, implement a real-time schedule for optimal visit times, and enhance the registration system for barber courses, aiming to create a more informative, convenient, and engaging user experience for Loyd Barber's clients and potential students.

Persona
To share with awareness what I learned I create 3 different personas to represent the different type of users I discovered during my research.
Persona: Alex
Problem Statement: Alex needs a reliable and modern barber with a convenient online booking system because his busy schedule as a college student and part-time worker makes it difficult to find time for haircuts, and he wants to maintain a stylish appearance without spending too much time or effort.

Persona: Yasmine
Problem Statement: Yasmine needs a barber shop that provides a variety of grooming and relaxation services with an easy-to-use online booking system because she wants to maintain a trendy and polished look that reflects her creative personality while balancing her busy work life as a graphic designer.

Persona: Aubin
Problem Statement: Aubin needs a barber shop that offers consistent quality and flexible appointment times because his job as a sales representative requires him to maintain a professional appearance and his unpredictable schedule makes it challenging to plan regular visits to the barber.

AFTER THOUGHT
Creating the Loyd Barber website taught me the power of minimalist design and the importance of accessibility. By focusing on simplicity, I crafted a modern, welcoming space that honors the shop’s tradition. Each design choice was made to ensure the site is not only visually appealing but also easy for everyone to use, regardless of language or background.
This experience reinforced that great design is both beautiful and inclusive, a principle I’ll carry forward in all my work.
